Barrier Bento
Barrier Bento is a high performance, fully needle punched geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) comprising Sodium bentonite encased and then heat embedded between two layers of geotextile to form a sealing composite suitable as a barrier for contamination applications in dams, basins of cut-off trenches, or as a replacement for traditional compacted clay layers.
It is available in various grades which can vary in the quantity and composition of the bentonite powder to achieve reducing degrees of hydraulic conductivity and sealing capabilities. The product can also be manufactured using nonwoven geotextiles or a combination of woven/nonwoven where additional tensile strength, CBR or interface friction performance is required, for example, on steep slopes.
Barrier Bento grades can be produced to customised requirements and in conformance to industry accepted material specifications including GRI-GCL3.
